    Description

This is for a cased 1939 jeweler make L13 Paul Meybauer Berlin sw 68,Alte JakobstrL13 1914
Iron Cross Emperor Wilhelm II reauthorized the Iron Cross on 5 August 1914, at the start of World War I. During these three periods, the Iron Cross was an award of the Kingdom of Prussia, although—given Prussia's pre-eminent place in the German Empire. The officer that order this iron cross first class was in WW1 and had this item made by the Jeweler Paul Meybauer  for their uniforms. In 1944 Paul Meybauer L13 Berlin along with along with The Juncker L12 Crosses Destroyed primarily due to the fact their factory was destroyed late in the war by allied bombing. What this means is, since any unissued crosses (as well as the dies) would have been destroyed in the bombing, only those that were already issues to soldiers remained. Therefore any Juncker and Paul Meybauer Iron cross surfacing today was sure to have been awarded to a soldier, not factory found.
