VINTAGE "Hol-E-Smokes" CIGARETTE TRADE STIMULATOR Works Great!.
Funny these are listed under “casino” collectibles, but were used to circumvent gambling laws in sates without casinos. Trade stimulators were countertop machines widely used to encourage shoppers to indulge in a game of chance. They became popular in American saloons during the 1880s, their use spreading to cigar, confectionery and general stores.
The key to lock it up comes with it. Put a penny in and pull the handle. Reels spin no problems. The only flaw that I can find is the little glass window on the left isn’t secured properly. I tried to attach it from behind when I first purchased it, but it is such a tight fit I wasn’t successful. The glass is there and not broken it just is not fastened correctly.
This is a fairly heavy item and I’m charging a flat to box it up properly, ship it, and appropriate insurance based on the selling price. If this comes out more than I will cover it, but would ship it the most affordable way that includes what I’ve stated along with a Tracking number.
