Always on the lookout for interesting collectible pins. I was able to purchased a collection of vintage European communist pins, Russia, Romania, East Germany, and more.
They cover sports, transportation, rockets, Cold War politics, fairs, travel and more. The pins are from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and a few are older.

The metal pin is highlighted by raised and recessed details.
This silver tone pin is star shaped, the Communist red star symbol is in the background, near the top there is a representation of the Romanian flag.
In the center there is a raised representation of a runner breaking the tape, crossing the finish line.
Near the bottom it states: FGMA FII Gata Pentru Munca Si Aparare / Be Ready For Work And Defense

FGMA refers to a government program for the health of the public, building a healthy community. The concept was based on the Soviet GTO (Ready for Labor and Defense) program.
This pin is highlighted by colorful enamel shades of blue, yellow, and red.
It could be used as a lapel pin, hat pin, vest badge or displayed.
This pin is approximately 7/8 of an inch.
