Bookends
album, and presented by Harold Davison and Tito Burns. Produced by Simon & Garfunkel with Ray Haylee,
Bookends
was the duo’s fourth studio album, and was released on on 3rd April, 1968 by Columbia Records. It is a concept album that explores a life journey from childhood to old age. Side one of the album marks successive stages in life, the theme serving as bookends to the life cycle. Side two largely consists of unused material for
The Graduate
soundtrack. The album produced the #1 single “Mrs. Robinson”, and reached number one in both the US and the UK.
Bookends
was considered a breakthrough for the duo, placing them on the same level as artists such as the Beatles, Bob Dylan, and the Rolling Stones at the forefront of the cultutal movement in the 1960s.
The handbill measures 14.5 x 22.8 cm (approx. 5-3/4" by 9" inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, uncoated paper stock. The handbill has been folded twice with a tiny pin hole to each corner.
