Rare Aluminium Tito 15.7" Relay of Youth Josip Broz Yugoslavia Stafeta Mladosti
We offer for sale an extremely rare Yugoslav relay baton, made for the special occasion of the 60th jubilar birthday of the Yugoslav leader Marshal Josip Broz Tito. The baton represents a fine example of the early Yugoslavian socialist artwork. The baton is designed in the shape of a torch.
The torch handle is made out of aluminum and hand-engraved, with the first variant of the coat of arms of the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia, and the year of birth of Marshal Tito. The torch flame is made out of wood and dyed red.
On the top of the torch, there is a brass oak wreath, with the miniature Renault tank epaulet insignia attached.
The baton was gifted to Tito by one of the Yugoslav People’s Army tank units. These batons were gifted to Marshal Tito, on Youth Day, at the official ceremony at the Yugoslav National Army Stadium in Belgrade.
