    Description

Old 1936 GEM Garden City Mfg. 1 Cent Coin Op TRADE Simulator Cigarettes.
Presented for your consideration is this neat antique trade stimulator. The stimulator is a Gem 1 cent coin op machine made by Garden City Mfg. It was manufactured in 1936. The machine is made of metal and the case is painted a dark sea foam green color. When a penny is inserted and the side lever is pulled the 3 reels on the top spin fast and give a combination. This combination correlates to a chart on the front that would tell you your winnings. Each player would have had a chance to receive 1 to 10 packs of cigarettes. Everyone that played would receive a gumball just for playing. These gumballs were stores in the bottom of the machine and could be seen through the large glass viewing window on the front. Just above the viewing window is a payout chart with pictures of cigarettes from Kool, Camel, Lucky Strike, and Chesterfield. The top of the machine has 3 small viewing windows to view the three reels on the interior. At the very top of the machine it reads “Gem” in silver lettering against a red background. On the back is a works access door. Guaranteed to be old. All original. This neat and harder to find trade stimulator would make a great addition to any tobacco memorabilia, coin op, or trade stimulator collection!
The reel viewing windows are slightly hard to see through, possibly due to the age yellowing of the reels. Some fading and staining is present on the payout chart. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the best details.
This machine does not work but the inner mechanicals are a simply design and once in, I think with knowledge,
    One could make it work.
