Manufacturer: Hobbycraft
Hobbycraft
kit number: HC-1603
Scale: 1/48
Description: Injection molded plastic kit of a World War II Luftwaffe twin-engined medium bomber. Markings are for a Do.17P-1, Germany 3(F)/22, 1940 and Do.17M-1, Bulgaria,1944.
Condition: The kit is open, complete, and started. The cockpit interior has been assembled and brush painted a "dark gray" color (see photo #8). The interior of both fuselage sections are brush painted in the same color. Dribbles of paint flowed out onto the exterior surface of the fuselage bottom (see photo #5). Paint removal and airbrush or rattle can repaint is recommended. I have had some success with automotive brake fluid as a paint remover. I am not sure how much the interior painting will show when the fuselage is assembled, but the exterior leakage is an eyesore. All parts are in sealed plastic bags.
Original list price: Unknown.
Current status: Unknown. Seems to be out of production.
This item comes from a smoke free, but not pet free home. Isabella, the tabby cat, and Molly, the Miniature Schnauzer, send their best wishes.
Domestic Shipping
: We strive to charge the lowest exact prices for shipping.
WE WILL COMBINE SHIPPING FOR MULTIPLE ITEMS, WHEN FEASIBLE.
We do not charge a handling fee nor for packing materials. We will try to continue our fine tradition of using the comic sections of our local newspaper for packing materials. We do not charge for time spent packing boxes nor for our mileage delivering them to the post office. We usually ship domestic parcels via U.S. Mail Standard Service (Retail Ground/Parcel Post). Very small items may go by First-Class Mail. IF WE RUN OUT OF GENERIC SHIPPING BOXES, WE WILL HAVE TO USE PRIORITY MAIL BOXES, OF WHICH WE HAVE AN AMPLE SUPPLY. PRIORITY MAIL IS FASTER, PROVIDES SOME INSURANCE, BUT IS MORE EXPENSIVE. Tracking is automatically included. Shipping fees for similar sized objects (such as car models, N-scale freight cars, and HO scale freight cars) may vary slightly due to the size and weight of the parcel shipping boxes. We use whatever clean shipping boxes we have at hand (from recycling or dumpster diving). Since we live in very rural South Dakota, about 6 miles from the nearest post office, we'll hitch up the oxen to the Conestoga wagon about once week to ship parcels (and lay in supplies at the general store). Actually, we do have cars, most of which have been totaled by hail damage.
I
nternational shipping
: We will ship overseas, but prefer to use Priority or Express Mail International or Priority Mail International, since these services offer shipping protection. These services are extremely expensive. Please inquire about cheaper shipping services. Any parcel shipped outside of the U.S. must have a customs form attached that lists the contents and value of the items.
Most items will be shipped under the business name of Sagebrush Models.
Please do not ask us to end the auction early in consideration of an offer.
Payment: PayPal is welcome. Winning overseas bidders must pay with PayPal.
WE ALLOW A VERY GENEROUS 14 DAYS FOR PAYMENT (you know, like until next payday). BUT, IF IT'S GOING TO BE MORE THAN 5 DAYS BEFORE YOU SEND PAYMENT, PLEASE LET US KNOW. WE'RE EASY.
Multiple auction winners contact me for combined shipping rates before submitting payment.
POTENTIAL BIDDERS, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING: A FEW YEARS AGO, A PAIR OF BUYERS LOCATED ON THE EAST COAST INITIATED A DISPUTE THROUGH PAYPAL, CLAIMING THEY DID NOT RECEIVE THEIR ITEM. IN EACH CASE, PAYPAL VOIDED THEIR PAYMENT TO ME AND DEBITED MY ACCOUNT. EVENTUALLY, BY SLOW BOAT, THE BUYERS RECEIVED THEIR ITEMS. I LIVE IN THE BOONIES OF SOUTHWESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA. I USED TO LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY, BUT SOUTH DAKOTA IS THE NEAREST PLACE I COULD FIND PARKING FOR MY CAR. FIRSTLY, I SHIP ALL OF MY SALE ITEMS BY U.S. MAIL, WHICH IS SLOW TO GET ANYWHERE FROM HERE. IF I MAIL A LETTER ACROSS TOWN, IT FIRST GOES TO RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA, 50 MILES (80KM) AWAY, BEFORE COMING BACK HERE. SECONDLY, FROM EARLY OCTOBER THROUGH LATE APRIL, IT IS WINTER HERE. BAD WEATHER MAY DELAY MAIL. THIRDLY, SINCE IT IS CHEAPER TO SHIP BY RETAIL GROUND MAIL SERVICE, MOST OF MY BUYERS OPT FOR THAT SERVICE. IT MAY TAKE A PARCEL A WEEK TO 10 DAYS (OR LONGER) TO REACH THE THE EAST COAST. PLEASE BE PATIENT! E-MAIL ME FIRST SO WE CAN WORK THINGS OUT BEFORE CLAIMING “FOUL!”. A 100% POSITIVE EBAY FEEDBACK RATING ON OVER 1560 TRANSACTIONS MEANS I’VE BEEN DOING IT RIGHT FOR A WHILE.
