Here is a cool piece of history! You don't see a ton of this bits from August Buermann's Star line very often, most are in collections. Especially the famed "Daisy" bits. This one is incredible, from a respected life-long collector's collection, this is one to see. A larger mouth than many at a true 5", with a half breed mouth with 2 1/8" port that still has its original cricket roller. This one is sound and tight, no repairs and has original rein rings. Straighter and shorter shank. Great engraving work on the shanks and large side silver concho. Some of the inlaid silver engraving work on the shanks are under tarnish rust. Marked Daisy and marked with a Star and Forged Silver. There may be another word, its hard to tell. In excellent condition for a truly vintage item. Age and use related tarnish and rust (this is a steel bit). Only condition flaw is a dent on one concho. Nice weight, nice balance, and an even better look. Still sound to use or add it to your collection.
