This bit is just incredible! A truly vintage item, marked Kelly Bros made by the incredible bit and spur maker PM (Pascal) Kelly. He got his start working for McChesney before going out on his own, creating an iconic look all his own. This is a bit unusual for his bits, as it has more of a colt bit look to it, without having a second rein for a curb strap. Not marked with a number, common with some of the earlier bits. Slightly larger mouth that measures 5.25", with a wider port that measures 1 5/8". Super short shank at just 6 1/2". In excellent condition, hardly showing any rust which is common in all steel bits. Nice bit of engraved silver on the shanks. There is some color wear on the rein rings, shinning to a brass color. At first it looks like a repair, but that isn't the case just color wear. Brilliantly balanced, stunning to look at. Ride or show in it, or add it to your collection. The is one to see!
