    Description

    This coin is a 1946 Roosevelt Dime that had been lightly irradiated.  When it was irradiated, the metal in the coin was transformed from silver-109 to silver-110  Silver-110 has a half-life of 22 seconds, which means that the coin becomes half as radioactive every 22 seconds until the coin has become completely composed of cadmium.  The dime is housed in a metal (possibly aluminum) container.
