Description
Copley-Plaza Boston Massachusetts Luncheon menu with Winston Churchill cover from his visit in 1932. The menu is dated Wednesday, February 21,1940.On back it says "We take pleasure in presenting a series of pictures and autographs of important personages who have been guests of The Copley-Plaza during the past twenty years. The cover presented today shows the Honorable Winston Churchill, now Great Britain's First Lord of the Admiralty, when he visited Boston and was a guest of the Copley-Plaza for several days."
The menu in no longer glued inside the scrapbook and has small tears and glue residue on back. Measures 9" X 12".
The scrapbook is full of newspaper clippings that show Churchills activities. Some of the clippings are no longer glued inside. There are some clippings that are in between pages and there are probably articles that have fallen out and are no longer with the book. The book measures app. 12 inches wide by 14 inches tall and most of the pages are full. The book contains the Alanbrooke war diaries 1-10 plus the conclusion, In the Wilds of Africa by Alan Moorehead 1-5, various articles, the New Alanbrooke diaries, and many more articles about Churchill and war issues. Some articles discuss Stalin,Hitler ,Russians,Germans, and MacArtur. Most of the clippings are not dated but I saw a couple with dates in the 1940's and 1950's.
