Description
This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of gambling history. For sale is a manufacturers set including a salesman brochure price list catalog for Blackhawk punchboards. The hardback binder measures approximately 5 1/2" x 9 1/2" and is in very good condition. Both items are from a non-smoking home. The catalog is primarily black and white images, with the exception of a red border on every page and the chief Blackhawk Indian image on the top of the first page. The first page has some slight wear, but all corners are firm and crisp. The date at the top of the price list is Oct. 1st., 1939. Each page in the brochure details the boards for sale, price, profit margin, and game play information. To compliment this book is a punchboard answer book. This is for games that were marketed as Q&A games, an attempt to stay one step ahead of the law in some states. If the patron punched a winning piece, they were expected to answer the trivia question on the back of the slip of paper. Thus making the device a game of skill, rather than a game of chance. Most likely the bartender would toss the book under the counter and keep it only in case of a raid. These were often lost in the shuffle and are not very readily available.
